BITUMINOUS & HOT MELT ASPHALTIC LINING
CMC offers hot-melt asphaltic cavity lining, bituminous or a combination of the two for multiple long term programs, short run specialty programs and prototypes. These processes line the inner walls of metal cases prior to filling with explosives.
This procedure is currently used by our larger military customers to line the inside of certain warheads like JASSM cruise missiles and small diameter bombs (SDBs) and can be followed by or preceded with the application of other organic coatings.
Military Specified Lining
CMC offers hot-melt asphaltic cavity lining that is certified to meet military specification MIL-C-3301C and bituminous coating per MIL-C-450C. These processes use a hot-melt asphaltic compound or bituminous coating or combination for multiple long term programs, short run specialty programs and prototypes to line inner walls of metal cases prior to filling with explosives.
CMC has lined tens of thousands of SDBs and its variants and worked on Blu 130s, Blu 133s, Mean 250s, LRASMs and other specialty projects for ATK and others. CMC also specializes in military vehicle components such as tubing, brake systems, tanks, guards, caps and countless other small parts.
Our flexibility and volume has allowed us the opportunity to paint all JASSM warheads ever produced and Hydra 70 warheads in our Hydra 70 Project. CMC has made all live and inert cases of JASSMs. Hydra 70 warheads finishing include the M151, M156, M274, M229, AND WTU-1B
